Philosophy

Claire’s philosophy of teaching music embraces not only a child’s ability to learn and perform music, but also focuses on the development of a child’s self-confidence, assertiveness and ability to effectively interact with others.  

She is passionate about encouraging each individual child to tap into previously unearthed potential and ability, whether by ‘nature’ or ‘nurture’; thereby enhancing a sense of individual purpose, fulfilment & achievement.

Claire aims to open up the world of music to all of her pupils through a number of media, including aural development, reading and writing of music, improvisation, theory of music, performance, technical skills, scales, sight reading, and much more. 

She readily encourages her pupils to listen to all genre of music as part of their day-to-day lives.
