The importance of aural training

Aural skills are tested as part of a student’s piano exams, because good aural skills reflect in performance and enable the performer to play with understanding and sensitivity.

NEW AURAL SYLLABUS AT ABRSM FOR 2011.  ABRSM has redesigned the aural tests for all its practical examinations, and these came into effect as of January 2011.  They have produced a new series of books with accompanying CDs for aural testing, ABRSM Specimen Aural Tests from 2011.  These are available from www.musicroom.com or www.abrsm.org.
